It’s been an exhilarating 40-year ride for Voivod, the Jonquière, Quebec quartet that has, over the years, defied the odds, faced tragedy head on and also seen the band rise above many of the contemporaries to a point where the band’s intricate progressively fuelled heavy metal sound also brings with it honours and awards. Box set also includes: a special customized outer box, 7 single LPs and 1 double LP, an exclusive poster, an insert with tracks/credit information and a Deicide sticker sheet in an envelope.Limited and individually numbered to 6000 unitsDeicide is an American death metal band formed in Tampa Florida in 1987 by drummer/composer Steve Asheim, and guitarist brothers Eric and Brian Hoffman as “Carnage.” They then hired bassist/lyricst/vocalist Glen Benton and became “Amon,” later changing the band name to Deicide in 1989. Prior to becoming Deicide, the band recorded the “Feasting the Beast” 8-track demo in Benton’s garage and started playing some local gigs in Tampa. In 1989, they recorded their second demo, “Sacrificial” at Morrisound with producer Scott Burns. Benton reportedly strormed into Roadrunner Records’ A&R; man Monte Conner’s office and presented him with the demo, saying “sign us, you fucking asshole!” The next day contracts were issued and the band’s name changed to Deicide at the request of the label. As Deicide the band released their self-titled debut album in 1990, which was also produced by Scott Burns. The debut featured re-recorded versions of all six of the “Sacrificial” tunes that got them signed. Both Hoffman brothers played technical solos at fast speeds with overlapping riffs, which gave the band the definitive heavy sound and complex song structures. This lineup remained intact until November of 2004, in the wake of increasing issues between Glen and the Hoffmans, allegedly regarding royalties and publishing. The Hoffman brothers later went on to reform Amon. The band rose to mainstream success in 1992 with their second album, “Legion,” and is credited as the second-best-selling death metal band of the Soundscan era, after Cannibal Corpse. Since their debut in 1990, the band has released twelve studio albums, one live album, two compilations and two DVDs. In November 2003, their first two albums, “Deicide,” and “Legion,:” were ranked second and third place in best-selling death metal albums of the Soundscan era. The band is known for their controversial lyrics, which cover topic such as Satanism, anti-Christianity, and blasphemy. Their lyrics have resulted in bans, lawsuits and criticism from religious groups. Taylor Norberg as recently as January 19, 2022, has replaced Chris Cannella on guitar. Jeff Beck - Tim Bogert - Carmen AppiceUpon seeing a September 1972 rehearsal, Melody Maker’s Chris Welch wrote, “Tim and Carmine are the mostferocious rhythm section extant, and quite frankly the combination that Jeff Beck could lead to be the first successor to Cream, both in terms of success and excitement.”England’s other major music publication, New Musical Express, would concur upon seeing one of the new power trio’s first shows: “BBA are an ensemble of virtually unparalleled magnificence. The heaviest thing on six legs: Beck, Bogert & Appice.”BBA was a short-lived super group made up of Jeff Beck (Guitar/Vocals), Tim Bogert (Bass/Vocals), and Carmen Appice (Drums/Vocals). Their brief, meteoric trajectory as a band included the 1973 release of their eponymous debut studio album, Beck, Bogert & Appice. On May 18th and 19th 1973, they recorded a live show at Koseinenkin Hall in Osaka, Japan, which was released as Live In Japan. The album was only released in Japan and has not been in print widely for some time.The rights to the Live In Japan audio reverted to the band several years ago. Jeff Beck’s team also discovered a previously unreleased live show recorded at the Rainbow Theatre in London on the 26th of January 1974. The original masters were located and cleaned up where necessary by all three band members, with full approval by Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, who passed away in 2021 and Jeff Beck, who passed earlier this year. "For A Thousand Beers" contains all TANKARD albums which were released by Noise.Tankard was founded in 1982 and is a German thrash metal band from Frankfurt am Main. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, they are one of the "Big Four" of German thrash metal. Stylistically at home in thrash metal, their songs are mainly about alcohol. With "Zombie Attack" they released their first album in July 1986. A year later, in October 1987, followed their second album, "Chemical Invasion" and in 1988 "The Morning After". After the first drummer, Oliver Werner, left the band and was replaced by Arnulf Tunn, the three albums were released: "The Meaning of Life", "Stone Cold Sober" and "Two-Faced". At the same time Tankard released the live album: "Fat, Ugly and Live". After that the line up of the band changed again. In May 1994 Arnulf Tunn was replaced by Olaf Zissel, who still plays the drums today. One year later another founding member, Axel Katzmann, was forced to leave the band due to arthritis in his wrist. In 1990 and 1991 Eric Clapton performed 42 nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London; 18 shows in 1990 and 24 in 1991. During the run of these shows Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. The huge undertaking of rehearsing for performances of three distinctly different genres and set lists was made more challenging by the rock show line-ups varying from 4, 9 or 13 band members. Guest musicians included Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Robert Cray and Phil Collins. The orchestra was conducted by the late Michael Kamen.Many of the performances were filmed and recorded and the huge amount of audio and film material has been painstakingly restored and the quality upgraded. These deluxe re-issues are greatly expanded compared to the original 1991 release with a wealth of previously unreleased material. The set lists featured songs from Clapton’s career up to that time, including stunning orchestral and rock performances of “Layla”, “Sunshine of Your Love”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “White Room”, “Can’t Find My Way Home” and “Crossroads”. The 10 LP vinyl box includes the following albums: Reptile, Me & Mr. Johnson, Sessions for Robert J, Back Home, Clapton and Rarities Volume 2 2001-2010. This limited-edition vinyl-only box set comprises of five studio albums Eric Clapton recorded for Reprise between 2001 and 2010 – starting with Reptile and concluding with the eponymously titled Clapton. Originally released as a CD/DVD, this box set sees the first vinyl release of Sessions for Robert J. Each of the albums has been remastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Studios in Maine and the vinyl mastering was done by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles. Simon Climie, Clapton’s long-time co-producer and engineer, oversaw these definitive remasters which are pressed on 180-gram vinyl. To further elevate the audio quality, Me & Mr. Johnson (originally released as a single LP) has been remastered as 3-sided double albums – to ensure that no single LP side exceeds 20 minutes. (The album has an etching on side 4). A “bonus” LP of Rarities compiled and produced by Simon Climie is included and covers the same period as the box. Most of the 8 tracks are out of print, hard to find, or previously unreleased on vinyl. It’s easy to picture; the deep mythology of pop music history assures that much. For nearly two decades, the bulk of Blondie’s audio and visual archive sat inside. One hundred reel-to-reel tapes, half a dozen cassettes, a few storage tubs crammed with records, bits of promotional flotsam, flyers, a stray Warhol print, and mirrored dressing room signage from four sold-out January 1980 nights at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. All of it lay silent through twenty humid summers, twenty frigid winters, and 20,000 rodents. There were knives collected in Asia and sex worker advertisements pilfered from the UK’s red telephone boxes of the late 1970s. In a corner, a dust-caked RIAA-certified gold record for Eat To The Beat reclined against a wall, its protective glass scarred by a bullet hole.“Iggy and I were shooting guns at a wall in my basement one night,” guitarist Chris Stein told us. “This was a casualty.” From this chaotic hoard of ephemera, this long-gestating project was born.Over the years, Blondie’s many partner record companies have done an exemplary job archiving the band’s recorded legacy, given the miles it’s logged and the oceans it’s had to cross. From Larry Uttal’s Private Stock Records to Terry Ellis and Chris Wright’s Chrysalis, which was absorbed by Capitol and then Universal, the band’s reels have been moved, transferred, baked, re-boxed, remixed, and barcoded more than a few times. We pored over every foot of magnetic tape and, thanks to our brand new 24-bit, 192KHz transfers, have expanded the dynamic range of Blondie’s six LPs. Nummerert og signert av Thomas Dybdahl.Dybdahl slo gjennom med et brak i 2002 med det meget kritikerroste debutalbumet ...That Great October Sound, førsteopplaget ble utsolgt på én dag, singlen «From Grace» ble en stor radiohit og albumet ble året etter belønnet med både Alarmprisen, Spellemannprisen og Edvardprisen.Andre del av oktobertrilogien var Stray Dogs fra 2003, som også fikk gode kritikker samt ble nominert til Alarmprisen og Spellemannprisen. Som debuten var også dette albumet spilt inn hjemme i hans egen stue. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers famously played 20 nights at the legendary Fillmore venue in San Francisco in 1997. 6 of the shows were professionally recorded and this release features many of the high points of the residency. The small venue allowed the band to vary their sets each night; they included re-arranged and distinctive versions of their hits, deep cuts, and many cover versions—paying tribute to the artists that Tom and the band had been influenced by. Neil Young’s fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalog and is dense with songs that have long-permeated radio waves. The 50th Anniversary Edition Box Sets will be released December 2nd on Vinyl and CD, boasting the original album, three studio outtakes on CD/7” vinyl, an unreleased live 1971 BBC solo performance on CD, LP and DVD. The film Harvest Time is a previously unseen 2-hour documentary filmed in 1971, documenting the Harvest sessions. Also included in the package is a hardbound book and fold-out poster. The vinyl box sets include a lithograph print.Fans of the record will receive a new glimpse into Harvest through the two DVDs included in the box set. The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. Throughout the album, the intelligent and thoughtful - often thought-provoking - songs tackle life and the universe.
