9Barista was founded by espresso fanatic and jet engineer William Playford. Combining his passions for espresso and engineering, William started work on designing the first of 9Barista’s products, the 9Barista espresso machine, back in 2015. The 9Barista has the unique ability to produce professional, barista-quality espresso on a stove top and is now being enjoyed by coffee aficionados all around the world. How does it work? Well, let’s rewind to the jet engineer bit. To produce genuine, delicious espresso you need three things; high pressures, perfectly controlled temperatures and precise engineering to bring it all together. The same three things that a jet engine requires. So, William used all his jet engineering expertise to develop a completely new and unique solution for creating high pressures and controlled temperatures in a deceptively simple home espresso machine. The result? Consistently delicious espresso from a machine with exceptional reliability and durability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAf-NjV1dbM Machine Specifications Machine weight: 1,8kg Machine height: 18cm Coffee making specifications Espresso output 40g – a large double shot (approx. 40ml) Brew pressure 8-10 bar (Maximum 12 bar) Brew temperature 90-95ºC Ground coffee weight 15-20g of freshly ground coffee Grinder required a burr grinder designed for espresso is highly recommended Water required 110-120ml Time to make espresso from cold 3 to 6 minutes, depending on stove Time to make a repeat espresso 3 to 6 minutes, depending on stove Recommended extraction time 25 - 30 seconds Maximum time on stove 8 minutes Compatible stove types Gas, electric induction (with adapter plate), electric halogen, electric ring, traditional stove (Aga, Rayburn), camping gas stove Materials The machine is made from die-cast and machined brass, with an electroless nickel plating, giving it both excellent resistance to acids, and good thermal uniformity. Les merA FATHER´S LEGACY Internationally renown industrial designer Tias Eckhoff received an award in design for his original kettle back in 1964. However, his product ended up only being produced for a few years. His kettle is now being brought back to life in a refined version through a collaboration between Tias’ daughter, Sigrid Eckhoff and coffee professional Ola Brattås. SHARING THE PASSION FOR GOOD TASTE Ola Brattås had many ideas on how to make sure the redesigned kettle could be improved to brew the perfect cup of coffee while still being easy to use. Sigrid Eckhoff, who herself is a renowned Norwegian industrial designer, faced the delicate task of trying to enhance her father’s original work and incorporating Ola’s ideas without changing the clean and iconic look of the kettle. With her father’s blessing, together they took on the challenge. Tias Brew Guid
Les merImportant: Kaldi roasters do not include a heat source. You'll need a mini gas stove (gasskjøkken, gassbluss) as a heat source. A stove can be purchased from a local hardware store such as Biltema, Jula, Clas Ohlson The roaster must be operated outdoors or in a location with proper ventilation. The drum is the most important part of the coffee roaster. The drum on the Kaldi roaster is made from 2mm thick stainless steel and perforated with 3mm holes. The interior of the drum has three agitator blades to keep the coffee mixing evenly.

Les merShort handle length with wide and flat ending to support the palm of your hand on the upper part while your fingers reach the edge of the piston DIAMETER For 58 mm diameter filter holders. PISTON MATERIAL 304 stainless steel, mirror-polished. HANDLE MATERIAL Ash wood from Montseny. HOW TO CHOOSE MY SIZE? To have a reference of which size is most suitable for your hand, we recommend placing your hand as appears in the position described on the chart, to obtain an approximate measurement of handle and to select the size which is closest to this dimension. It is important to relax your hand and bend your fingers in the manner that is closest to your pressing style. Remember: this exercise is just for guidance.
Les merSpecifications 58mm filter baskets the same size as professional semi-automatic machines. Our baskets are extremely high quality, they are made by the same factory that makes all the best baskets in the world. Stainless Steel Tamper 1 piece stainless steel tamper designed and machined to precisely fit snugly in the basket and has tapered side walls to prevent ground being sucked back when you lift the tamper. Pressure gauge Our Patent Pending system takes the pressure reading from inside the basket. Add to that the manual pressing of the lever arms, it enables you to manipulate pre-infusion, flow and pressure in real-time to get the best from your coffee. Extraction pressure Ignore the magic 9 bar, that figure originally referred to the pump output pressure of a Faema E61 machine, when in actual fact the pressure at the group will be lower, maybe even 1-2 bar lower. Traditional lever machines (as measured by us) typically extract at 6-7 bars, and since the basket and piston on the Robot are the same size, we suggest you initially aim for 6-7 bars as well and adjust as preferred. Temperature management The Robot is clearly not going to give you a La Marzocco type flat temperature profile. But water off the boil poured into a gently pre-heated basket will yield approx 95 deg c water, and will give you up to 88 deg c coffee output from the basket. Extraction ratios Certainly a 2:1 ratio of beverage mass to ground coffee is possible i.e. a 16g coffee dose can easily yield a 32g beverage weight. You can increase the beverage weight up to 40-45g if needed. Bottomless is best For best results we recommend using the portafilter without the spouts - but when using the pressurised basket it is best to use with the spouts attached. It's a lever machine Lever machines can be very forgiving thanks to their gentle pre-infusion and the soft ramp up to full pressure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11ZSXVZbQbA
